Marian Athletics Winter Season Recap 2025–2026
A Season of Growth, Championships, and Historic Moments
The 2025–2026 winter season will be remembered as one of the most remarkable stretches in Marian Athletics history. Across basketball, bowling, pompon, ski, and hockey, Mustang student-athletes consistently demonstrated resilience, discipline, and a commitment to excellence. This season was about more than wins or accolades; it was about the culture of Marian Athletics—team-first mentality, leadership, and pride in competition.
Basketball
The basketball program approached the season with a focus on growth, unity, and competitiveness. Facing a challenging schedule night after night, the Mustangs emphasized team chemistry and consistency as defining themes. Captains Liv Rotter and Kennedi Marsh set the tone with leadership both on and off the court. Liv Rotter earned All-League honors for her scoring, defensive tenacity, and clutch performances, while Kennedi Marsh balanced the demands of a competitive season with her academics, earning All-Academic recognition. By season's end, the team had grown stronger and more connected, laying the groundwork for continued success in the years ahead.
Bowling
Marian bowling delivered a season defined by steady improvement and resilience. Maria Burlingame anchored the lineup with consistent, high-pressure performances that earned her All-League honors. Aurelia O'Connor provided key contributions throughout the season, helping the Mustangs remain competitive in every match. The team also celebrated academic success, with Madeline Kizy earning All-Academic recognition, reflecting the program's commitment to excellence both on the lanes and in the classroom. The season highlighted the Mustangs' perseverance and work ethic, setting the stage for continued growth.
Pompon
The pompon team continued its tradition of excellence, finishing first at the MPA Championships and third at the state competition. Senior captain Pippa Dawson, an All-Catholic honoree, led with experience and energy, setting expectations for both performance and accountability. Junior captain Jan Bodagh earned All-League recognition while helping maintain the team's competitive edge. Madelyn Doil was recognized for academic excellence with All-Academic honors, further demonstrating the program's dedication to success on and off the floor. Through countless hours of practice and competition, the pompon team showcased what it means to represent Marian with pride and precision.
Ski
Marian ski experienced a season of dominance, capturing both the Division and League Championships with a perfect 7–0 league record. The Mustangs' depth and versatility across slalom and giant slalom events gave them a competitive advantage all season. Ava Hierlihy, the team MVP, earned First Team All-State and All-Catholic recognition for her consistent top finishes. Mirabelle Dawson and Summer Borromeo also earned All-Catholic honors, contributing crucial points in key races. The team carried its success into the postseason, claiming the Regional Championship and finishing seventh at the MHSAA State Finals, reflecting preparation, teamwork, and determination.
Hockey
The hockey team delivered one of the most exciting and historic seasons in program history. Competing in a challenging league, the Saints steadily improved and built the chemistry necessary to succeed in the postseason. Their season culminated in the MGHSHL State Tournament semifinals and included the program's first-ever playoff victory. Senior Lucy Mobily, in her first year playing hockey, recorded two goals and two assists in the quarterfinals, while Jordyn Farida earned First Team All-State honors for her defensive leadership, and Isabella Jaradi earned Second Team All-State recognition for her offensive contributions. The Mustangs' skill, perseverance, and teamwork made this season a turning point for the program.
The 2025–2026 winter season was defined not just by wins, championships, or accolades, but by the collective effort, spirit, and pride of Marian student-athletes. Across all programs, the Mustangs demonstrated what it means to compete with purpose, represent their school with pride, and support one another through every challenge.
