Marian’s Glorio and Hindo Capture State Title in Doubles Flight 3
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Marian High School’s girls tennis team wrapped up a strong showing at the MHSAA Division 3 State Championships held Friday and Saturday at the University of Michigan Varsity Tennis Center.
The top-seeded sophomore duo of Stella Glorio and Lexa Hindo led the way by winning the Doubles Flight 3 State Championship. After receiving a first round bye, the pair defeated Grand Rapids Christian (6-0, 6-3) in the second round, Holland Christian (6-2, 6-2) in the Quarterfinal, fifth-seeded Parma Western (6-3, 6-3) in the Semifinal, and second-seeded Cranbrook Kingswood (6-3, 6-4) in the State Final to capture the title.
Their championship marks Marian’s first individual tennis state title since 2021, when Lily Low '24 won the Singles Flight 4 title.
As a team, Marian finished with 22 points, placing third out of 26 teams.

Elizabeth Torok (Fr.) – Reached the Singles Flight 2 Semifinal with wins over Holland Christian (7-5, 7-6(7)) and East Grand Rapids (6-4, 6-0).

Anya Nix (Sr.) – Reached the Singles Flight 3 Semifinal after defeating Hamilton (6-0, 6-0) and East Grand Rapids (6-3, 6-0).

Allegra Curis (Jr.) / Emerson Turkot (Jr.) – Reached the Doubles Flight 1 Semifinal, winning over Stevensville Lakeshore (6-1, 6-0) and Grand Rapids Christian (6-2, 6-0).

Alex Freitag (Sr.) / Audrey Agbay (Sr.) – Reached the Doubles Flight 2 Semifinal with victories against Spring Lake (6-0, 6-0) and Forest Hills Eastern (0-6, 6-3, 6-2).

Caroline Torok (Sr.) – Defeated Lansing Eastern (6-0, 6-2) in the Singles Flight 1 second round.

Marja Geisz (So.) – Defeated Hamilton (6-1, 6-0) in the Singles Flight 4 second round.

Elle Brockhaus (Sr.) / Lizzie Plunkett (So.) – Defeated Grand Rapids South Christian (6-1, 6-1) in the Doubles Flight 4 second round.
Every Marian player earned at least one match win during the weekend, wrapping up a successful year for the Mustangs.
