Three seniors, two sophomores named to 2022-23 CHSL Pompon Honor Team

DETROIT, Mich. – The Detroit Catholic High School League Pompon and Dance Championship were held February 9 at Marian High School.

At the championship event, The CHSL Coaches Association announced the Honor Team in both sports.

A year ago, Marian captured their second consecutive CHSL pompon championship. This year, Marian narrowly finished as runners-up.

Marian senior Grace DeLano, who owns a 4.017 cumulative GPA, earned all-Academic honors while four other Mustangs also collected CHSL recognition.

Seniors Alex Hafley and Shannon Snyder earned all-Catholic honors while Marian sophomores Sophia Frye and Lecari Simpson were recognized at finals as all-League selections.

The 2022-23 pompon season concluded at the Mid-American Pompon (MAPP) State Championship at Eastern Michigan University where Marian finished fifth at the Class B final.
