Seaholm dominates field at Cranbrook Invite
October 15, 2021
BLOOMFIELD HILLS - Williams Natatorium was the site of the Cranbrook Invitational. The host Cranes, Seaholm Maples and Marian Mustangs competed in the two-day event with diving and prelims on Thursday and swim finals on Friday.
Marian's already small team was depleted with injuries and illness, which didn't bode well when facing Seaholm, a top-10 school in Division 1 and Cranbrook, last season's Division 3 state champion. However, the Mustangs that did compete turned in some solid swims, finishing third with 203 points. Seaholm was the champion (429) and Cranbrook came in second with 300 points.
Senior Julia Waechter won both the 50 yard freestyle (24.47) and the 100 yard freestyle (52.88) and Rachel Bello captured the 100 yard breaststroke title (1:10.54).

The Mustangs will host the Liggett-Regina cooperative team in the final event of the CHSL dual season at Waterford Kettering on Tuesday, October 19. It will be senior night for Marian. Meet time is 6pm.
